This work is an attempt to make a new place my place, to grow into it, to absorb it with all parts of myself. An attempt to tie myself to a point in the landscape, to create the layer of sensations I need and, as a result, to fix it in the plane of the object. Living for more than a year near Lake Lisi, in Tbilisi, I established a connection with this place so that it would become for me a very personal, understandable, pleasant refuge and a place for daily reboot. The result of such personal appropriation of this place into the inner part of myself was fixation in this object, consisting of several layers: a shadow of white paint, sewn-on photographs from thermal film (I constantly photographed changes in nature and weather around this mountain lake) and embroidered tree-paths of my paths around this area.
This series contained three works united by theme of paths, ways of interpret the road ahead and behind.
The forest as an interpretation of impassable wilderness, colliding with others, you can see the reflection of the path inside yourself, having passed endless paths, to find your way. In this work I use pieces of glass, gathering into a reflective surface, peering into the reflection of the surrounding space, but they also noticeably crumble into fragments of space.
A path looped around. At each circle, acquiring new characteristics of the path-lines.
Interpretation of my looped life of recent years: leaving and returning, each time there is a conflict between the imaginary house in the head and the real collision with the physical world in one geographic coordinate. Space disintegrates and each time assembles into a new puzzle.
