A research project of the recreational area of Lake Lisi in Tbilisi. I lived near it for a year and a half and constantly went for walks in this area. Lake Lisi is a recreational area of the abandoned Soviet past that is being restored. A place of vibrant elite development, active recreation of city dwellers, fishermen, shepherds walk with flocks of sheep also in this area. The appearance of the area, relationships, times, the ways of using the area change. Everyone coexists with each other, influences each other, adapts, conflicts, builds a dialogue and simply lives.
In this series of works, a story about each participant of the area and how the lines of each influence others, how they intertwine and what relationships they enter into.
Main participants:
— Slate from Soviet ruins of buildings
— The bark with beetle tracks
— Construction waste
— Artifacts of people's pastime on the territory
— GPS signal drawing my route on the phone
We are all interconnected and everything around us is also interconnected. In this research work, I discuss how the past, present and future of this place are intertwined in a moment of time. The interconnection of different creatures and non-creatures in one point of space. Everyone has their own path, their own life, and if we do not bury our heads under our feet and look from different sides, angles and interpretations, what will we see?
